Advantages
  • The gravity casting process involves pouring alloys from a vertical position, so air can be quickly expelled or replaced. Lower levels of trapped gas in the mold can produce castings with high integrity and good surface finish.
  • The surface of components produced by gravity casting is much smoother than sand casting. Although generally more suitable for larger and thicker parts than pressure die casting, it can also produce parts with a high level of detail.
  • Although the pouring of metal is slower than the injection method used in pressure die casting, alloys have fewer internal pores, which means that the part is both strong and ductile, and has a finer grain structure.
And during the process, the molten metal alloy fills up the dies and forms the exact shape.
